From Community Support to Youth Workforce Development
Founded in 2018, Passage To Purpose, Inc. began with a commitment to improving the quality of life for people living in underserved communities. Our original work focused on supportive services, awareness, counseling, financial assistance, affordable housing, and social welfare.
As the organization developed, our mission continued to evolve. We explored community outreach, economic empowerment, homeownership, small-business services, financial literacy, education, and job training. During this period, the organization also underwent several leadership and organizational changes and operated for a time under the name Focus On The Future.
In 2025, we returned to our original name, Passage To Purpose, Inc., while formally expanding our organizational purpose to include education, job training, financial literacy, basic needs, and social and human services.
Our Next Chapter
Today, Passage To Purpose is entering a new chapter with a focused mission:
We are a youth organization specializing in workforce development and job training.
Our work is centered on helping young people develop the knowledge, skills, experience, and confidence necessary to successfully enter the workforce and pursue sustainable careers.
Through career readiness, job training, work-based learning, employment opportunities, financial literacy, and workforce partnerships, we are creating pathways for young people to move from education to employment and from employment toward long-term economic independence.
Our Journey
2018 — Founded as Passage To Purpose
Established as a nonprofit public benefit organization focused on supportive services and improving the lives of people in underserved communities.
2019–2020 — Growth & Organizational Development
The organization underwent restructuring, leadership transitions, and changes to its governing documents and community-service focus.
2020–2025 — Focus On The Future
The organization operated under the Focus On The Future name while expanding its stated purpose to include community outreach, basic needs, homeownership, small-business services, and economic opportunities.
2025 — Return to Passage To Purpose
The organization returned to the Passage To Purpose name and formally incorporated education and job training into its organizational purpose.
2026 — Youth Workforce Development
Passage To Purpose is now focused on preparing young people for the workforce through job training, career readiness, work experience, and workforce development.
